Fishing on the River Carey – SOLD
SOLD – 1,657 yards (1,515 m) of single-bank fishing on the River Carey, running downstream from Heale Bridge to the River Tamar
DESCRIPTION 1,657 yards (1,515m) of single bank Fishing Rights offered for sale on the River Carey. The rights are over an attractive stretch of the River Carey, running on the southern bank from Heale Bridge down to the junction with the River Tamar. This section of the River Carey offers a variety of water, with plenty of riffle water and shallow runs, whilst also providing deeper pools, some meandering bends and benefits from the confluence waters as it meets the Tamar.
The River Carey has historically been a productive tributary feeding the River Tamar system, which is one of the well-known salmon and sea trout rivers in the South West. The River Carey is renowned for its trout and grayling fishing. Reports suggest that the catch records can be impressive, with a healthy number of fish per visit and of a reasonable size – the largest trout size is reportedly 10″ to 11″ and grayling up to 1lb. The River Carey occasionally rewards anglers with sea trout and salmon.
