Testimonial – David Marrow
Coming from a non-agricultural background, with only a Geography degree to my name, Townsend Chartered Surveyors has been the perfect introduction to this fascinating and multi-faceted field and an ideal starting point for my professional career.
With Townsend Chartered Surveyors I have been introduced to a wide breadth of different professional work. Including natural capital, valuations, brokerage, and government grant applications, to name but a few. Throughout all of this work from day one I have had direct interaction with the firm’s clients and have felt incredibly supported by my colleagues in this, working closely with all members of the office. The spirit of TCS is certainly embedded in a ‘teach it, not dictate it’ mentality. “Serve to lead” is undoubtedly a well chosen motto, and I have benefited from this just as much as any of our clients.
Being enrolled on an apprenticeship by Townsend Chartered Surveyors has only benefited my experience. It has always given me an excellent level of background knowledge to complement my professional work, has enabled me to develop professional relationships that I know will serve me well throughout my career, and has set me up to receive an RICS accredited master’s degree in Rural Estate and Land Management from Harper Adams University.
In my time at Townsend Chartered Surveyors I would like to give particular note to the excitement and zeal I have felt to be working in a firm which is at the forefront of an increasingly important new land agency service – namely natural capital and BNG specifically. It has been captivating to observe and have an active role in how landowners, other agents and even the RICS have seized and worked with this opportunity.
I could not have asked for a better firm to kickstart my career.
