You are buying from farmers who are the freehold owners of the offset sites, not tenants.

You are not buying units from Townsend Chartered Surveyors, we are only brokers for our farmers, with no other interest in the units themselves.

You are buying as directly as you can from farmers, so more of the sale proceeds are left to ensure the habitats are properly created and maintained for the thirty plus years. (There is however no comeback on the purchaser after the sale if the offsites are not managed and maintained properly.)

We charge our farmers 3% to sell their units so after all conveyance costs etc. our clients should be left with circa 90% of the sale proceeds compared with some BNG operators leaving them with as little as 5% so there is more left “in the deal” whereby our farmers have greater flexibility to provide reasonably priced units.

We believe there is a higher chance farmers will know best how to manage their own land and generally we believe they are financially more secure than BNG operators.

The sale on 2nd February is on the basis that our farmers will bear the “spatial weighting” difference. The number of units you bid on will be the number that are “delivered to your development site” at the price you have offered.

Our farmers are happy to trade across boundaries increasing the choice of units you can bid on.
